"For a number of years, my wife and I travelled to Mexico though rarely set foot outside the compound of our all inclusive resort. With retirement now a reality, we can look forward to longer visits to this beautiful country. Hayley Pogue introduced us to the concept of renting a fully furnished seaside dwelling and this past winter we enjoyed a wonderful home on the beach complete with its own swimming pool, fully equipped kitchen, wifi, multiple bedrooms and baths, more than we could use. The best part is that we stayed in Mexico twice as long as we would at a resort for about the same price.

First time renters justifiably have some concerns, but Hayley assisted with information on airport transfers, taxi and uber information as well as local knowledge, regarding restaurants and shopping. Best of all, additional services such as laundry and house cleaning can be included because after all, we are on vacation. We chose to cook for ourselves but I understand that cooks can also be provided on request.

We are excited to return next year for a longer stay so we can explore more of the wonders Mexico’s Yucatan offers."

We entered retirement by traveling to a new destination and trying our first

1-month vacation. We decided on the Yucatán area of Mexico for its beauty, vibrant history, the ranking as one of the safest places to visit in the

world. After doing research on rental opportunities, we decided to work with

Hayley provided a short list of available properties, and we were quickly able to quickly narrow it down to “Patricio’s”. Hayley made recommendations for air

travel and even coordinated a car rental for us upon our arrival in

Mérida.

Our welcome package helped us get coordinated with the area and provided

us some great ideas to get out and see areas around Progresso, Chicxulub

Puerto, Mérida and beyond. The Yucatán is rich in Mayan history

and there are many cenotes to visit and explore.

Patricio’s was a modern, well-appointed beachfront home with a

pool, that exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by the owners and

caretakers of the property upon arrival to orient us to Patricio’s. While most meals we prepared at “home” we did not miss the opportunity to try a variety of local

restaurants and street vendors in the area. We never missed an opportunity to

watch the amazing sunsets with new friends and a glass of wine!
